August 1st 2006 I started my 2-year Trainee program with Wrist Group A/S in Aalborg as a Bunker Trader in O.W. Bunker & Trading A/S.
I started in the Physical department in our head office in Aalborg and was there for my 1st and 2nd semester. When entering my third semester it was obligatory to go abroad to work in an international office of O.W. Bunker for six months, for thereafter returning to Denmark again in 4th semester to finish the Trainee education. I was fortunate to go to Las Palmas, Gran Canaria office for my rotation period and it was a grand experience - professionally as well as personally.
Already very early in the program I attended to international bunker and sales courses both internally and externally. This is great opportunities to learn about the industry and to socialize with fellow Trainees and people within the business around the globe.
Shortly after early courses in 1st semester I was given my own area of responsibility in the department within the every day sales and routines. It is exciting to know that you can contribute and your work is being highly appreciated.
The working environment is really great at O.W Bunker & Trading A/S. Very nice open offices and great colleagues together with a casual atmosphere. Social activities are regularly arranged within O.W. Bunker which helps to develop good relations between employees.
O.W. Bunker & Trading A/S has put together a very good Trainee program that gives you many opportunities for future employment in the bunker industry both in Denmark and abroad. It provides you with a highly professional education and international experiences through the entire program.
